If you aim your plane straight down at full speed, don't expect a safe recovery by just pulling up, you're probably not going to get out of that dive alive. Depending on the craft of course, it's mostly about managing your planes momentum.

Yeah, and while this does feel a bit 'on rails' with the mouse, you quickly learn that there is a LOT of strategy in how to dogfight. There's actually a lot of sim in this game, even though the best way to play is still with the point and click mouse. More experienced players will want to try out the realistic control settings so they can play with a whole bunch of confusing flight instruments. And I like how you don't have to have dog fights, you can just go attack ground units and still be a valuable member to your team. Bajo, I liked that when you run out of planes, you can leave the match before it's over without any penalty. When you die on the battlefield, that plane is gone until you finish the match and it does cost to repair. Quick flicks up and down will steer the plane quickly, and by moving your crosshair the plane will automatically correct to line up. The good news is, one of the two mouse setups works fantastically well and is by far the most spectacular way to play this game. The downside of this is that as the planes are easier to fly, it's possible the strengths and weakness of each plane might cause some imbalance, to be fair, we haven't been able to get that deep into it. There is a realistic mode which removes mouse view by force, but we couldn't get a game there and I'd say that's probably because it's easier to earn XP in arcade battles.

Yes considering they're website boasts multiple control support, which a game like these needs to keep population up and spending, you should be able to just plug in a 360 controller and just GO, but you can't really. And at the end of the day, mouse wins on the battlefield. I know it's only in beta, but still, Hex I spent 3 hours fiddling with my controller trying to get a the right sensitivity and dead zone to make controller play useable, and it still had heaps of wobble and just didn't feel right. Right now, the only way to play this game effectively is with the mouse and from what I've read, some flight sticks. But mostly because they'll have to get the controller support smoothed out.

It's particularly thrilling in a dogfight, with headphones on as the rat tat tat barrels past your ears.ДЄpparently this game is coming to PS4 this year too which I am very excited for, partly because it's a reminder that next gen is coming and can look like this. Audio compliments each view perfectly too. All the wonderful instruments and rickety old plane stuff is nice and detailed and we can only assume accurate to the planes. I'd often get distracted from the fight just to fly through them.Д¬ockpit view is terrifying, as it should be, especially in a storm. There is a lot of detail and huge draw distances, plus the damage model on each plan is excellent and reminds you how fragile they are. I agree, in fact, I can't think of another flight game that even comes close to this visually, I mean in terms of this scale. I wouldn't know one of these planes from the other, but after a while I started to find my favourites, and I was fascinated about how they all handled differently.
